I’m In A Book! It’s Available Now! I’m In A Book I’minabookiminabook!!!!
First things first…
I liked books as a kid, but reading was low on the totem pole. It wasn’t until my tween years that I could do some serious damage to my Sweet Valley High books over a weekend, or my teen years when I tore up some V.C. Andrews and Stephen King novels. Hey, I’m not touting my quality of reading, just the fact that I liked to read and often read two or more books at a time. As I got older, I added some quality to the mix with the occasional Victor Hugo or Charles Dickens, in addition to the likes of The Hobbit, The Help and The Historian.
Once I had my daughter almost 5 years ago, book reading came to a screeching halt. I still read, but it was all about finding out where the green sheep had gone (spoiler alert! he’s behind the bush sleeping), and of course anything online or in print about how to get my baby to stop screaming at me (spoiler alert! you can’t).

Over the last year or so, I’ve read a lot of blogs, but I missed the feel of turning paper pages and decided to ask for a ton of books for Christmas. Now that my kids are old enough to actually sleep a little at night, I can stay up past the sun and enjoy 10 glorious minutes of reading minimum before I pass out from exhaustion. It takes me a lot longer than it used to, but I have been reading over the last few months! I started the delightful series of historical romance books from my friend Christina Yother starting with Reverie. I read The Princess Bride: S. Morgenstern’s Classic Tale of True Love and High Adventure after reading an awesome book review from Leslie Kendall Dye on Off The Shelf. Finally, I re-read I Just Want to Pee Alone, the hilarious parenting anthology from Jen Mann of People I Want To Punch In The Throat and a bunch of hilarious mom bloggers.
And guess what I’m reading now? I Still Just Want to Pee Alone! I can’t recommend it highly enough because
#1 It’s awesome!
#2 I’m in it!
I am reading the entire book myself now and loving all the funny and heartwarming stories from my fellow bloggers. There is something for every mom, and each story is just a few pages, so you can definitely hide out in the bathroom long enough to read one now and then while your husband plays that 7th round of Candy Land with your kids.
The two previous anthologies in this series have sold over 40,000 copies so far, and the first book in the series, I Just Want to Pee Alone just made it to the New York Times Best Sellers list in February 2015!
I can’t wait to hear which stories were your favorites! Here’s a little snippet from mine:
The other stories in the book come from an awesome line-up of bloggers from these awesome blogs:
